Parkinson’s Australia is the peak body representing the state and territory organizations providing services and support to over 72,000 people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.
Collectively, our state and territory organizations provide a broad range of services, including:
- Information
- Education
- Counselling
- Advocacy
- Research
- Support Groups
Purpose
Parkinson’s Australia’s purpose is :
- To increase the capacity of its members to operate efficient and effective services
- To influence governments at both state/territory and federal levels to provide a policy
environment that is responsive to the needs of people living with Parkinson’s and their service providers.
Structure
Parkinson’s Australia has a National Secretariat based in Canberra. Every state and territory has representation
on the national body.
The organisation as a whole is governed by a national Board which includes the elected
representative from each state/territory.
