August 25, 2025 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm ACST

Join the Tasmania Parkinson’s Project for a practical and informative webinar exploring one of the lesser-discussed but highly impactful aspects of Parkinson’s – pain with physiotherapist and researcher, Associate Professor Natalie Allen, who has extensive experience working with people living with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders, to guide us through this important topic.

Pain affects a large proportion of people with Parkinson’s and can take many different forms – from musculoskeletal discomfort to nerve-related pain or stiffness. In this session, Natalie will:

  • Explain what pain is and the different types of pain experienced by people with Parkinson’s disease
  • Discuss why pain occurs and how it is influenced by biological, psychological and social factors
  • Offer practical tips and strategies to help manage pain in daily life, including movement-based techniques and when to seek professional support.

This session will be especially valuable for those living with Parkinson’s, as well as their families and support networks.

  • Date: Monday 25 August 2025
  • Time: 1pm – 2pm AEST

You’ll also hear from Prof Michele Callisaya and Prof Jane Alty, co-leads of the Tasmania Parkinson’s Project, who will give an update on the project and upcoming research opportunities.

As always, wrap up includes a live Q&A session to answer any questions you may have for the panel.
