In April 2025, James took on one of Australia’s most gruelling trail running events – the Buffalo Stampede – covering 100km and 5,000m of elevation gain through the Victorian High Country, all in memory of his Nonna Maria.
James set himself a fundraising goal of $4,000 for Parkinson’s Australia. His supporters had other ideas. Thanks to an incredible outpouring of generosity, he tripled his target, raising over $12,000 in his grandmother’s honour.
The Buffalo Stampede is no small feat – and neither is the love that drives a grandson to push his body to its limits for someone he lost to Parkinson’s. James is a reminder that every step, no matter how hard, can mean the world to someone living with Parkinson’s.
