Virtual roundtables

Parkinson’s Australia holds virtual roundtables once a month on different days and times to encourage people to participate, no matter what their schedule. Each month, there will be a different time slot. During these roundtables, we can report back to you about our current projects and listen to your experiences, advice, and feedback. See more below regarding session times and booking for this month’s session.

We invite people living with Parkinson’s, care partners, paid support carers, family, friends, and anyone else affected by Parkinson’s to participate. Register below.

Participate in research

STUDY 1: We are encouraging women with Parkinson’s to participate in a world-first pilot of symptom tracking through the My Moves Matters app with University Cork College researchers. Check out the video and find out more here…

STUDY 2: Know Your Score – Parkinson’s symptoms vary between people and fluctuate throughout the day. Over time, some symptoms improve, others get worse. The PRO-PD converts this ambiguous, ill-defined burden to a numerical, trackable, shareable score.

Raise awareness & fundraise

Another way we receive support is through fundraisers. These can vary from asking people donate instead of receiving gifts for a birthday, to other extremes, like our supporter Jeff, who walked the Camino Trail in Europe to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s Australia!

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you’re making an impact. We will support your fundraiser by assisting you in creating your online fundraising campaign. It’s important to share on your socials and that your supporters understand:

  • Why Parkinson’s is an important cause to you
  • Your event/activity you have chosen
  • What your personal goal is.

You can create your own online fundraiser on Facebook, or by using our partner donation platform GiveNow to set up a ‘Crowd Raiser’ and share on social media. Please contact us for further help setting up a fundraiser.
