Help Promote & Educate Your Community
We’re calling on passionate members of the Parkinson’s community to join us as Digital Health Champions. - Encouraging the use of My Health Record, the my health app, Electronic Prescriptions, and Active Script List.
- Empowering people with Parkinson’s by providing relatable, peer-led education on using digital health tools.
- Giving back with purpose – use your experience to help others in the Parkinson’s community build digital confidence.

What’s Involved?
Each Digital Health Champion will:
- Attend a 1.5-hour training session to gain a deeper understanding of My Health Record, Electronic Prescriptions and my health app
- Participate in an additional support session for ongoing guidance.
- Deliver a minimum of two education sessions in their community using official Agency education resources
- Report back on attendance and feedback from these sessions to help improve future initiatives.
Digital Health Champions will be fully supported by Parkinson’s Australia and the Australian Digital Health Agency staff throughout the process.
About My Health Record
My Health Record is a secure, online place to store your key health information. It’s accessible to you and your healthcare providers whenever it’s needed and can include:
- Medications and allergies
- Immunisation records
- Pathology and test results
- Prescription records and specialist reports
With your permission, doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, and allied health professionals can upload and view this information, ensuring your care team has a complete picture of your health – even if they’re in different locations.
In an emergency, hospital staff can quickly access your medical history and current medications, leading to faster, safer, and better-informed care.
You’re always in control. My Health Record allows you to manage who has access, see what has been viewed, and decide what information is shared.

Electronic Prescriptions: No More Lost Scripts
Keeping track of multiple prescriptions can be challenging, especially when living with a chronic condition. Electronic prescriptions make it simpler and more convenient.
Your doctor can send your prescription directly to your mobile phone by SMS or email. Just present the digital token at your pharmacy to collect your medication – no paper script required.
This secure, paper-free system reduces the risk of lost prescriptions and is especially helpful for telehealth appointments or when carers collect medications.
Keeping Your Information Safe
Your privacy and security are top priorities. The Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) uses strong cybersecurity measures, including encryption, secure servers, and strict access controls.
You can manage your own privacy settings, decide who can view your record, and track access to your information.
The Agency also promotes safe digital practices such as using strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and keeping software up to date – so you can feel confident your information is protected.
Supporting Australians Living with Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s is a complex neurological condition that often requires coordinated care from a team of healthcare professionals – from neurologists and GPs to physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists.
Digital health tools like My Health Record and Electronic Prescriptions help connect these care providers, improving communication, reducing duplication, and ensuring treatment decisions are made with the most up-to-date information.
For people living with Parkinson’s, this means greater independence, safer care, and improved health outcomes.
