A snippet of Paula's story:

Diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease as a young adult, Paula Argy has lived with the condition for over 35 years — a journey marked by courage, loss, resilience, and ultimately, hope. But in 2020, everything changed. A new advanced therapy transformed her life. Within weeks, she regained her mobility, independence, and zest for life — reclaiming the ability to walk, dance, socialise, travel, and feel joy once more.

This Christmas, Parkinson’s Australia is asking for your support to advance research trials focused on improving the treatment of Parkinson’s.

Supported by Serina Therapeutics

Serina Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Huntsville, Alabama, US developing next-generation therapies for neurological diseases using its proprietary POZ™ Platform. This cutting-edge drug delivery technology is designed to improve how medications are absorbed and tolerated, offering more consistent and effective treatment options. Serina’s lead candidate, SER-252, is an investigational therapy for Parkinson’s Disease that aims to provide continuous dopaminergic stimulation (CDS)—a method shown to reduce motor complications like dyskinesia in advanced PD patients.

Now, Serina is launching a clinical trial for individuals aged 40–80 with idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease who experience daily OFF episodes. Participants will stay at a Phase 1 unit for 7 days and return for a follow-up visit on Day 14. To support participation, Serina will cover travel costs for both patients and their caregivers, including hotel accommodations if needed.

This trial is part of Serina’s broader mission to bring science closer to patients and improve quality of life through precision drug delivery. If you or someone you know meets the criteria, this is a chance to contribute to groundbreaking research and help shape the future of Parkinson’s treatment.
