We were excited to present the first face-to-face Parkinson's Australia National Conference in 10 years and look forward to doing it again biennially!

As an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Parkinson's, we held the Parkinson's Australia National Conference 2025, in Canberra from April 6th to 8th. MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR MAY 16 TO 18, 2027 IN SYDNEY.

Our theme was Connection

This conference offered a unique opportunity to connect with experts in the field, exchange knowledge, and explore the latest advancements in Parkinson's care. With a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, it was an event tailored to researchers, allied health professionals, people living with Parkinson's and their care partners who play a vital role in supporting people living with Parkinson's.

This was a fantastic opportunity to gain new insights, share experiences with peers, and continue your professional development in a supportive environment.

We heard from international keynotes and local experts on topics ranging from exercise, nutrition, wellbeing and gender differences to continence, the latest cell, gene, drug & complementary therapies, sexuality & disability, technology, managing carer burnout, Parkinson's symptom management and much more…

International keynote speakers:

Professor Roger Barker, UK – Roger Barker is a Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and Consultant Neurologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital. He is also the President of the World Parkinson's Congress and a leading expert in Cell and Gene Therapy. He present two talks at PANC25:

Dr Laurie Mischley, USA – Dr Mischley is Senior Clinical Investigator, Naturopathic Physician at Seattle Integrative Medicine, with appointments at the University of Washington & Bastyr University. Creator of PRO-PD app and her research is based on data-driven interventions and practical ways to live well with Parkinson's.

Richelle Flanagan, Ireland – Richelle is a dietitian and co-founder of The Women's Parkinson's Project and the My Moves Matter app that deep dives into gender and Parkinson's including pregnancy, menstruation and menopause.

This conference offered a 2-hour welcome reception to all conference attendees & an optional dinner (you can also book a guest dinner pass for anyone not attending the conference but wanting to join us).
